Eastlake and Fairview Construction Notes:

There is a chance that a bridge closure and construction will affect the course for 2020 only. We have a contingency plan worked out with the City of Seattle for an alternate course and will inform you of those changes if necessary. You can get the most up to date information here: https://www.seattle.gov/transportation/projects-and-programs/programs/bridges-stairs-and-other-structures/bridges/fairview-ave-n-bridge-replacement

Details (for our traditional course, not the amended version which is TBD for 2021):

Runners and walkers start on Westlake Ave. N. and head north to Fremont Bridge. The two northbound lanes will be closed to traffic until all runners and walkers reach the Fremont Bridge and proceed onto the sidewalk.

Prior to the bridge runners will exit onto the sidewalk at Diamond Marina. Cross the Fremont Bridge on the east side and run/walk all the way to Fremont Ave. Turn right and run/walk with traffic in the bike lane on North 34th St. Cross the street at N. Northlake Way, go up 100 meters or so and veer right on Burke Gilman Trail. Follow Burke Gilman Trail east past Gas Works Park. After a mile or so the run splits from Burke Gilman trail and runs along the sidewalk on NE Pacific St. right before University Bridge. Cross the street at the 5 way intersection and run up on 40th past the Peace Park onto the University Bridge. Run/walk on Fairview Ave East, along the water front all the way to South Lake Union. There are two short jogs up to alleys and then back down to Fairview at Hamlin St., down the alley to Edgar St. then west to Yale St. and back down to Fairview on Roanoke St. Run/walk on the shoulder of the road as the side walk is inconsistent. At south Lake Union, Fairview Ave East turns to Fairview Ave N. The course continues East to West on the sidewalk along Valley St, finishing in Lake Union Park.
